Salta Launches New Tenant Experience App Atlas in Nexus Dandenong South

1 May, 2026

Salta, in partnership with Equiem, has launched a new tenant engagement app designed to elevate connectivity, convenience and community across its industrial precincts in Melbourne.

Marking a national first for the industrial sector, the launch of Atlas at Salta’s Nexus Dandenong South Industrial Precinct represents Australia’s first purpose-built tenant experience app for the sector, reflecting both Salta’s focus on fostering customer relationships as well as the sophistication and changing expectations of modern industrial occupiers. This move into the industrial sector builds on Salta and Equiem’s pioneering introduction of tenant experience apps to the office market in 2016.

Inspired by the concept of the word atlas (also an anadrome for Salta), the platform aims to support navigation, discovery and connection within Salta’s precincts, creating a digital extension of the physical environment. Delivered on a precinct-by-precinct model, Atlas provides tenants with a centralised, intuitive hub for real-time information, services, updates, events and local amenity – all in one place.

The launch builds on Salta’s long-standing, in-house approach to development, asset and property management, where strong relationships and day-to-day engagement with tenants sit at the core of its operating model. Shaped directly by tenant feedback through Salta’s Annual Tenant Engagement Survey, Atlas has been introduced to further strengthen the tenant experience year-on-year, responding to a clear appetite for improved connectivity, easier access to information and a centralised platform for communication.

Importantly, the app also provides a dedicated hub for critical health and safety updates, ensuring all workers across the precinct have timely access to key information and protocols.

According to Salta’s Director of Asset Management, Melissa Kidd, the initiative underscores the growing recognition that employee satisfaction, safety, and engagement are vital for productivity and retention across all sectors, including the rapidly expanding industrial sector.

“As the industrial landscape continues to evolve, we’re seeing tenants look beyond functionality alone. Atlas is about strengthening relationships and improving the tenant experience in a practical, meaningful way. It supports our teams on the ground while giving tenants a simple, time-efficient way to stay informed, connected and engaged with their precinct and the people within it,” said Kidd.

Nexus Dandenong South continues to evolve as a modern industrial precinct, home to a diverse mix of logistics, manufacturing and service-based businesses. This includes Walkinshaw, which last year committed to Salta’s largest pre-lease to date, spanning more than 100,000 square metres, alongside other leading national and global operators.

“Tools like Atlas play an important role in supporting our people on site – it is a great ‘value-add that compliments the overall experience being part of the Nexus Dandenong South community,” said Julie Hurst, Marketing Manager at Walkinshaw.

“We have over 1,000 staff who come and go from our premises at any given time. Having a single platform that improves communication, access to services and connection within the precinct adds real value to the day-to-day experience for our teams for whenever they come to site.”

Emily Checinski, Regional Director from Equiem added:

“We’ve worked with Salta since 2016, so when they came to us with a vision for their industrial precincts, it felt like a natural next step. What they’ve built at Nexus reflects what we see the best property operators doing, using technology to strengthen relationships, not replace them.”

Victoria continues to lead the nation’s industrial market, following a post-COVID surge that saw Melbourne account for almost 50 per cent of Australia’s total industrial floorspace leased between 2020 and 2024, according to the Property Council of Australia’s 10 Year Land Supply Report.

While demand has stabilised, rental growth and low vacancy rates persist, reinforcing the importance of high-quality, well-managed precincts that prioritise tenant experience.

“We look forward to continuing to improve what’s possible across our precincts with the support of Atlas. By learning what types of information, support and activations resonates with our tenants, we’ll be able keep our industrial communities serviced, informed and most importantly happy,” added Kidd.

Spanning approximately 180 hectares, Nexus Dandenong South is recognised as home to major brands including Bunnings and Woolworths, with 18 businesses now operating within the precinct. Salta is also progressing future amenity initiatives, including plans for The Exchange – a proposed food, beverage and services precinct designed to support on-site workers and visitors, further enhancing the daily experience within the precinct.

With Atlas now live at Nexus Dandenong South, Salta continues to demonstrate how strong relationships, in-house management expertise and thoughtful technology can work together to create connected industrial communities.
