A joint development between Salta Properties and the Victorian Government, the Intermodal Terminal will service the freight infrastructure at Nexus Dandenong South. The state and federal government are investing a further $28 million to connect the Intermodal Terminal to the main rail line.

TECHNOLOGY

The Intermodal Terminal uses four state-of-the art technological components that seamlessly integrate to efficiently manage freight and optimise operation time.

Terminal Operating System
All terminal operations are controlled by this state-of-the-art system (TOS).
Automated Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes
Direct connections to the Port of Melbourne via the Western Port Freeway and M1.
Vehicle Booking System
Fully integrated into the TOS, all truck appointments are managed automatically.
Gate Operating System
Coordinates all truck entry and exits from the terminal.

UNRIVALLED CONNECTIVITY

When complete, the Intermodal Terminal will connect Nexus Dandenong South directly with the main rail line and the Port of Melbourne. Dedicated rail infrastructure includes two 700-metre rail tracks within the terminal and an 800-metre spur track being built by the Victorian Government.
